Thought to date back to 1559 The Bear Hotel has a long and fascinating history and is a true landmark in the market town of Devizes.  As well as many local attractions to explore on our doorstep including the Wiltshire Museum, Wadworth Brewery Shop, Folly Road Brewhouse Tours, Caen hill locks and Devizes Castle, we’re located just a 25 minute drive from Stonehenge and 50 minutes from the Roman city of Bath, making us the ideal place to stay in Wiltshire.

Don't miss the iconic Caen Hill Locks, a flight of 29 locks just outside Devizes, one of the most impressive sights along the canal. With scenic towpaths, wildlife spotting, and cosy cafés along the way, there's something for everyone.

Wadworth Brewery Tours

Just a short drive from The Bear Hotel, Folly Road Brewhouse (Wadworth HQ) offers a fascinating look at how the beers we serve on our bar are crafted. Their tours give you a behind-the-scenes view of brewing, from mash to pint, perfect for beer lovers.

An expert guide will tak you on an immersive experience from hop to pint, you'll then enjoy a tasting session with a selection of six beers.
